23 years spent with craftsmen from Lozere

From 1974 to 1997, I worked within the Lozere's Craftsmen and Farmers Co-operative society for which I was a kind of handy man. I met during this period a lot of craftsmen. It is always a pleasure to watch a craftsman at work. Each craftsman has developed some special skills. I learnt a lot by watching them.

During these years, I caried on working with wood to make some personal items. In 1983, with Reine, my wife, we built on a house on Mende's hight's, and, of course, we largely used wood in the interior decoration of our home. I made several of our furnitures with my own hands. Later, I made plenty of small wood toys for our daughter or for friends' children.

Hand made objects are unique. Patterns may be the same from an item to another, but every piece of wood is different. It can be a knot or a difference in the color of the wood that will make each item unique.
